                             COVID-19 Affect on Sports

COVID-19 has affected sports history. The coronavirus or COVID-19 has affected many people's lives especially sports fans and sports players. Sports have had to change a significant amount because of covid. Many pro athletes have been affected by covid. A lot have even gotten the coronavirus.

Many sports players have tested positive for COVID-19 and have had to be taken out and quarantined. This has affected sports because some of the world's best athletes have had to be quarantined.  Not only does this affect the community of sports it also affects how sports game results come out. For example, a team with their best player out because of covid would be more likely to lose. Covid does not only affect the players it also affects how the game is played and even the audience. At important games instead of having almost 100,000 people in the stands watching for each game, there would only be 15,000 or even 10,000 people. This is not a lot for big sports stadiums like Gillette Stadium, in New England.

Because of the coronavirus, everyone on the sideline has to wear a mask including the players. ¨According to espn.com,¨Every player that goes to the game has to get a Covid test every day before entering the stadium on game day.” Also if a player is out because of covid then a backup player will have to play and that affects how the game will be played and what will happen.

The 2020 NFL season is almost over and the season has been very odd for everyone especially the players. COVID-19 could very well change the outcome of the Super Bowl happening in a few weeks. How do you think COVID-19 will affect the MLB and baseball when it starts?

Hopefully, COVID-19 ends soon. Covid has affected everyone and to those of us that have lost loved ones,  just know you will make it through it and others are here for you, you are not alone. I hope you learned something about coronaviruses' effect on sports from this blog. This is SoccerDog and I will see you next time.

  1. I found it interesting about how many people were in the stands before covid and how the number drop so much. Covid had a big effect on my sport too, now we need to wear face masks when we play. who's your favorite football player?

    1. Hello Oatmeal I am happy that you liked my blog, you are right when first found out about how much the number of people in the stands were dropping I was very interested as well. To answer your question my favorite football player is either Julian Edelman on the Patriots or Patrick Mahomes for KC who has been doing very well and is going to the superbowl for the second year in a row!

  2. I agree with all of this. They even have to put cardboard cutouts in stands just to make it look as if there are people. I am interested to see if the full NBA season will play through, and the same thing with the MLB. Who is your favorite profesional athlete?

    1. I am happy that you liked my blog. I do not follow the NBA very much, so I did not know that they had cardboard cutouts in the stand I think that is very interesting. To answer your question my favorite pro athlete right now is probably Julian Edelman or Patrick Mahomes. Edelman has been one of my favorite players for a long time and Mahomes is doing really good right now and is going against Tom Brady in the Superbowl soon.
