                       Origin of Dogs

Dogs are the most popular pet in the world but do you know the backstory behind them? They have a very interesting and amazing history. The history of dogs is not completely known but a lot of it is. Today you will learn the history of dogs all the way back to the first dogs ever.

Dogs came from wolves and they were one of the first animals to be domesticated by humans. Most people think they came from parts of Germany and slowly grew around the world which caused them to be around humans a lot, some think this helped them getting domesticated. Ancient dog fossils can be traced all the way back to East Siberia. No matter where they came from, dogs have been around for a long time. It is not completely known how dogs have come to what they are today but we do know that they are amazing creatures.

The wolves that traveled over time met a lot of humans and some of them bred them, the wolves that got bred eventually made the first dogs.

According to PetButler, “After the 100's of years the dogs have adapted they have been bred to do many different things like herd sheep or pull a slay there are many dog breeds that get bred to work and do jobs that humans don't or can’t”.

No one knows where the first dogs were but most think they came from either East Siberia or Germany but either way it was 15,000 years ago and they still exist today. They have been given the title man's best friend. No one knows exactly what happened along the way from some wolves getting bred to be dogs but there must have been a lot of breeding to get an animal as great as the modern-day dog.

Well, now you understand most of the backstory of your pet. If you don’t have a dog then maybe knowing their backstory will help you decide if you ever want one. If not at least you understand how the modern-day dog has come to what they are today. Maybe in hundreds of years, dogs will be even more amazing.
